ORW Founders Day:

An Annual Tradition That Supports Our Veterans

Each year, the Chambers County Veterans Association is blessed to be the beneficiary of one of the most meaningful community events in our area — the annual Founders Day Festival hosted by the City of Old River-Winfree.

This past year’s event was another tremendous success, bringing together families, local businesses, veterans, and community leaders for a full day of celebration — all while raising critical funds to support local veterans.

A Celebration with Purpose

Founders Day is more than just a festival — it’s a day where community pride meets community service.

Through the Silent and Live Auctions, bake-off entries, vendor participation, and generous donations, the event raises funds that directly benefit the Chambers County Veterans Association. These funds allow us to continue:

  • Assisting veterans in times of financial hardship

  • Supporting emergency needs

  • Honoring and recognizing local service members

Because of this event, real help reaches real veterans right here in Chambers County.

Highlights from This Year’s Festival

The day was packed with energy and excitement, including:

🎵 Live music and entertainment
🍰 The Ethel P. Ramsey Bake-Off
🚗 Car, Truck, and Motorcycle Show
🏛 Historical exhibits and demonstrations
🎡 Family-friendly activities and carnival-style fun
🐾 A crowd-favorite Dog Show to close out the day

From start to finish, Founders Day reflected the generous and patriotic spirit of Old River-Winfree.

A Partnership We’re Proud Of

The City of Old River-Winfree continues to be our largest sponsor and one of our strongest community partners. Their leadership, volunteers, vendors, and residents consistently show up in support of our local veterans.

It is because of partnerships like this that the Chambers County Veterans Association can continue fulfilling our mission with strength and stability.

We are deeply grateful for their ongoing commitment to those who have served.
