Gift Guidelines
To help CCVA organize and distribute gifts safely and accurately, all donated gifts must be new and unwrapped.
Please label each item with the Family ID provided by CCVA and recipient's name.
For Veteran Families
Need a Little Help This Christmas?
If you are a veteran or military family in Chambers County experiencing financial hardship, CCVA's Adopt-A-Family Program may be able to help make the holidays a little easier.
Families selected for the program may receive assistance with Christmas gifts and other holiday needs based on available donors and resources.
Completing an application does not guarantee assistance. Applications will be reviewed by CCVA, and assistance will depend on eligibility, demonstrated need, available funding, and the number of participating donors.
What You'll Need to Provide
To help us better understand how we can support your family this Christmas, applicants will be asked to share information about their veteran status, Chambers County residency, household and dependents, current circumstances, and their family's holiday needs.
Your Privacy Matters
Information submitted by veteran families will be treated with care and used by CCVA for the purpose of evaluating and coordinating assistance. CCVA will not provide a donor with a veteran family's private application or sensitive personal information.

Not everyone has the time to shop for an entire family—and that's okay.
Financial contributions to the CCVA Adopt-A-Family Program can help CCVA meet needs that remain after families have been matched with sponsors.
How the Program Works
1. Veteran Families Apply
Eligible Chambers County veteran families submit a confidential application describing their household and holiday needs.
2. CCVA Reviews Applications
CCVA reviews applications and determines participation based on eligibility, need, available resources, and program capacity.
3. Community Sponsors Are Matched
Participating individuals, businesses, and organizations are matched with veteran families while CCVA protects appropriate personal information.
4. Christmas Arrives
Sponsors provide requested gifts or assistance according to CCVA's program instructions, and CCVA coordinates distribution to participating families.
Who Can Apply?
The CCVA Adopt-A-Family Program is available to eligible members of our local veteran community who reside in Chambers County, Texas, including:
Veterans
Military retirees
Qualifying spouses
Qualifying surviving spouses
Applicants must meet CCVA's eligibility requirements and provide documentation verifying veteran or military status and Chambers County residency.
Because available sponsors and funding may vary from year to year, submitting an application does not guarantee assistance. Applications will be reviewed based on eligibility, household circumstances, demonstrated need, and available program resources.
Families With Children
Families with children or other dependents are encouraged to apply; however, having dependent children is not required to participate. CCVA recognizes that veterans, retirees, spouses, and surviving spouses may experience financial hardship during the holiday season regardless of household size.

Important Program Information
Does submitting an application guarantee my family will be adopted?
No. Submission of an application does not guarantee assistance. Participation depends on eligibility, demonstrated need, available sponsors, donations, and program capacity.
Will sponsors know the veteran family's identity?
CCVA will protect applicants' personal information and only share information necessary to fulfill the family's holiday needs, unless additional disclosure has been authorized by the participating family.
Can my business or organization adopt a family?
Yes. Businesses, civic organizations, churches, employee groups, families, and individuals can participate.
Can I help without adopting an entire family?
Yes. Community members can make financial contributions to help CCVA fulfill unmet Adopt-A-Family needs.
Are donations tax deductible?
Donations to the Adopt-A-Family Program:
Chambers County Veterans Association (CCVA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions made to CCVA in support of the Adopt-A-Family Program are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. CCVA retains discretion and control over donated funds to carry out the charitable purposes of the program.
